Changelog

October 2026

:::warning Update the server and the client together The connection is now encrypted and the appearance packet changed. An old client cannot connect to a new server. :::

Client

  • The first visit to a new server no longer needs a game restart.
  • Supports 600+ clothing models per slot (drawable ids above 255) and 300+ custom cars.
  • DLC packs load faster: unchanged packs are not re-checked, and pack files are no longer stored twice on disk.
  • Packs larger than ~31 MB are downloaded by the launcher. If one changes while a player is in game, the player sees a clear message and the game closes cleanly instead of crashing.
  • The yellow special-ability bar is gone from the HUD; only health and armour remain.
  • Fixed a crash at game start.

API

  • mp.game.gxt.set('PM_PAUSE_HDR', 'TEXT') replaces "Grand Theft Auto V" in the pause menu header, as in RAGE:MP. See Text, HUD & pause menu.
  • mp.game.graphics.drawText:
    • [x, y, z] or a Vector3 draws 3D text in the world, as in RAGE:MP; [x, y] draws 2D text on screen.
    • 3D text is centred on its point by default (centre: false turns that off).
    • Whole-number values such as scale: [1, 1] are now drawn correctly.
    • Text longer than 99 characters is no longer cut off.
    • This fixes admin ESPs, tags over players and vehicles, and any other 3D text.

Server

  • The client ↔ server connection is encrypted (AES-256-GCM). Nothing to configure, and ping and sync are unaffected. See Networking, ports & security.
  • Client files and DLC packs are cached, so players connect faster.
  • DLC packs are sent from disk and do not stay in server memory.
  • Files are served over HTTP on port + 1, so keep both ports open.
  • At start the log reports how many DLC packs are served and their total size.
